In the 1930's, the Matson company commissioned artist Eugene Savage to create works of art worthy of admiration to promote and capture the rich culture of the Hawaiian Islands. 'Banquet' is inspired by his masterpiece, one of only five murals still preserved to this day! Proudly displayed today at the Honolulu Museum of Art. Each figure reflects the face of real people.
